Iconic Motorcycle Jackets, Barbour, Belstaff and Private White V.C.

These cotton waxed jackets represent an era when motorcycling was but for the few adventurous souls, who searched into an unknown destiny between themselves and the open roads.

These early aviators of dirt and asphalt relied in clothing for protection from elements encountered in the unknown roads they sought-out.

These ‘icon’ jackets some older, received at most minimal updates to retain their inherited glory. These are not jackets to purchase and wear, but are to be merited.

Belstaff

The Trialmaster jacket retains a functional utility that is the Belstaff standard. Perfected over decades the Belstaff Trailmaster Tourist Trophy is a versatile biking jacket bringing the spirit of the open road to modern urban living.

Hand-waxed cotton seals out the elements, reinforced elbows and shoulders provide extra protection. Throat latch seals out the wind and rain and a cotton lining which stays dry against the body. The jacket is branded with signature Belstaff patch and Union Jack label signify performance.

Founded in 1924 by Eli Belovitch and Harry Grosberg in Staffordshire, Belstaff produced all-weather jackets for motorcyclists, and was the first company to ever use waxed cotton. The company was last purchased by Italian investors and is now based in Mogliano Veneto.

Barbour

Barbour join forces with English motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield for what they company referred to as The Great British collaboration.

The Northpass jacket is one of two items designed exclusively for the Royal Enfield Trophy collection. Inspired by traditional wax motorcycle jackets, the Northpass is made with a medium weight beeswax-treated cotton outer, lined with cotton and featuring all the classic International elements; a fabric waist belt, high funnel collar with throat strap, three generous patch pockets and one angled map pocket with the embroidered Royal Enfield logo.

Modern details such as the reflective strip on the belt and under the lower pocket flaps offer practical safety that doesn’t inhibit the jackets lines.

Inside, a detachable fleece liner gives added warmth in the colder months, and can be removed on warm days, making the Northpass a great all-year-round jacket.
